In 2016, Toyota customers made comments and suggestions around the 2016 Toyota RAV4 model. For 2017, Toyota definitely heard their call. Toyota has upped the game for the interior of the 2017 Toyota RAV4 by adding more soft-touch surfaces and upgraded to better tech for the customer’s overall enjoyment.
It is no secret that Toyota is one of the top selling brands of all time in the entire world. The Toyota RAV4 is still one of the most sought after crossover SUVs in its class and we’re about to look inside and see why.
The interior space of the RAV4 is the same for all trim levels and gives more than enough leg-room for all passengers. The cargo space is especially large and even comes with a power tailgate that opens with the wave of a foot. Cargo space begins at the low cargo floor which is 38.4 cubic feet and can expand up to 73.4 cubic feet when the split-folding rear seat lays flat.
No other crossover SUV is able to compete with the 2017 RAV4’s amount of safety tech. The RAV4 beefed up its safety features, receiving a five-star overall rating from the NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ designation from the IIHS. The standard Toyota Safety System is a newly added idea and includes some features excluded from last year’s model. The system includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, in-lane departure alert, radar-based adaptive cruise control, a pedestrian pre-collision system, and automatic high beams.
The powertrain offers both a standard gas engine of a hybrid option (something you don’t often see in this class). The gas engine is a 2.5-liter inline-4 paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The horsepower stays at 176-horsepower. Choosing the hybrid option will gift you a 32 mpg for combined fuel economy ratings. Customers have the choice of AWD or FWD, but in the great state of Colorado, AWD may be your best option.
For the fun part, interior tech. The standard features for the interior of the RAV4 include air conditioning, a tilting-and-telescoping steering wheel with audio and phone controls, cruise control, interior LED lighting, a 12-volt power outlet for the front compartment, and of course, touchscreen infotainment system (meet with your Toyota dealer to learn about the many wonderful infotainment options you can add).
